DESIGN FEATURES & SPECIFICATION:

Gantry cranes or Goliath cranes are used for applications where overhead runways would be very long, costly to erect, and difficult to maintain in alignment. These types of cranes are generally used for outdoor applications where columns cannot be accommodated. The top main girder is balanced between the two A shaped columns resting on the wheel mounted end carriage. Gantry cranes are available in both Single Girder and Double Girder as per customer requirements.

Main Girder: The girders of the crane are designed keeping in mind the class, frequency of operation, and duty cycle. Different girders that can be installed include RSJ type, plate box type, or truss type for single girder with its bottom flange as the path for the trolley of the hoist. Double girder design is also available for heavy duty applications. The tracks are laid on the top of girders for travel of crab wheels of material handling gantry cranes.

STANDARD FEATURES:

DESIGN: SUMO Gantry Goliath Cranes have a modular and compact design for low maintenance cost and easy operation.

MOTORS: The motors used are specially designed for crane duty, suitable for frequent starting, reversing, and braking in accordance with IS-325. Motors are totally enclosed in dust proof construction, foot or flange mounted TESC or TEFC squirrel cage motors with integrated safety brakes, insulation class F, and IP54 protection for hoisting, CT, and LT motions.

BRAKES: Single or dual-disc shoe electromagnetic or EHT brakes with features like automatic braking on power failure (FAIL SAFE).

GEAR BOX: The entire gear boxes are made of accurate hob cut helical or spur gears and pinions having hardness 250 to 350 BHN made from carbon alloy steel. All gears and pinions run on antifriction type ball or roller bearings in a totally enclosed oil bath giving constant splash lubrication. The helical or spur gear is designed for adequate strength and optimum wear resistance for smooth operation and long life.

ELECTRICAL PANEL: Modular design, easy to install and maintain, reliable operation, fuse less circuitry, ducted wiring, and compact terminals. Motor overload protection to prevent overloading.

LIMIT SWITCH: Safety limit switches for stoppers will be provided to prevent over traveling in all motions.

PAINTING: Two coats of primer before assembly and two coats of synthetic enamel after testing.
